I come by my love of ambiguity honestly.

From homeschooler (unschooler if you want to be more precise) to Ph.D. in information science, I have navigated a lot of the world as an insider and an outsider. Attempts at categorizing my own experience led to my doctoral research, which examined how catalogers handle tricky descriptions in cultural heritage institutions.

Themes addressed in my work have included creative constraints, education (pre-K to graduate school), design and media strategy, death, and hospitality.

I do work in user research, curriculum development, design strategy, and writing.
